2) Have a plan


I would always recommend you go cold turkey because that way you can start to feel better in three weeks.

3) Don't avoid temptation


We all know that you are going to want to smoke for a while so there is not point hiding at home. One thing that really helped me was to go to a party for the first time and stay smoke free. I was so proud of myself and I knew then that I had kicked it.

4) Water and breathing


Make a pact with yourself that even when things get tough you will take four deeps breathes and have a pint of water before lighting up. You will be amazed at how this makes the craving go away.

5) You will fail


Ok the fact is that you won't give up first time because nobody does. Don't beat yourself up and just learn why you gave in and start again.
